The 3 day Murchison Falls National Park Safari gives you a great time in the wild with great sights of the magnificent Murchison falls that falls from a 45m wall through an 8m wide gorge hence giving it a very scenic look and a thunderous roar of the waters before it continues with its course on the Victoria Nile, amazing vegetation types especially Savannah and amazing wildlife species such as lions, warthogs, elephants, antelopes, Nile crocodiles and birds like Goliath heron, kingfishers, rare shoebill, the storks among others. The park was established in 1926 as a game reserve hence is Uganda’s oldest and largest, situated in Northwestern Uganda, on an area of 3,80sqkm and home to over 460 bird and 76 mammal species.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Arriving to a new and foreign place can be overwhelming. All your senses are operating in overdrive as you take in the unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells of your new surroundings. This is certainly the case for a visit to Uganda and if this is your first time traveling to Africa, you will never forget your first acquaintance with her. Our company representative will be waiting for you at the airport to warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities.
Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money, visit the shopping malls around town and craft villages to get items which you may need while upcountry.
Your safari guide will give you a brief about your safari before start the journey North Western to Murchison Falls national park. Stop at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino trekking and later proceed for lunch break at a selected restaurant. You will after proceed to the park and drive to the top of the Murchison falls for greater views.
Murchison Falls also known as the Kabalega National Park, is the largest park in Uganda covering an area of 3840 sq km / 1483 sq miles. It is popularly known for having the world’s most powerful waterfall. The Park was first gazetted in 1927 and today it is commonly visited for its diverse safari activities and rich wildlife.
The Park is home to more than 73 animal species among which are the four ‘Big Five’ including buffaloes, leopards, lions and elephants (except rhinos), it has three-quarters of the world’s population of Rothschild giraffes plus a healthy population of herbivores which has recently doubled including the Uganda Kobs all of which can easily be seen on the game drives here.
There are various primates living within its verdant forests like the Budongo among are over 610 chimpanzees, in addition to 451 bird species including 23 Albertine rift endemics.
Day 2: Murchison Falls, Game Drives and Boat cruise.
Wake up early enjoy a cup of African coffee and transfer to the open plains of the park for game viewing. Game drives through the park offer you spectacular views of wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, Topis, Elands, Uganda kobs, waterbuck and warthogs grazing, browsing and hunting in the park. You will thereafter return to the lodge for late breakfast, freshen up and wait for hot lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to the base of Murchison falls where there is a permanent rainbow. Expect to see numerous birds and water animals on the banks of the Nile River and enjoy the cool breezes of the waters.
The highlight of visiting the falls is to see how large volumes of water from the Victoria Nile forces its way through an approximately 7-meter-wide gorge to plunge 43 meters below into a pool. This powerful water fall creates a thunderous noise with a splashing cloud of fog offering a very breathtaking view.
Transfer back to Kampala
Today, after your lazy breakfast, check out of the lodge for the transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route. You shall be dropped off at your hotel or the airport later in the evening.
